in Training Methods & Philosophy

I am a big proponent of using gentle, dog friendly methods for all training.  Just like humans, dogs do things because they are motivated by something.  You can motivate using rewards or you can motivate through the threat of pain/discomfort.  I will always choose to motivate through giving reward or taking away reward.  I do not use shock collars, choke chains, prong collars, or any other tool designed to inflict pain or discomfort on to a dog.

Early in my career I did use these tools so I know precisely why I won’t use them. You shouldn’t either.
